Lisa NY United States Female Living with Hodgkin Lymphoma for 9 years Age: 39
I am extremely grateful and happy to say that I am a Hodgkin's lymphoma survivor. I had my last ABVD treatment on June 22, 2001. I had 12 altogether and did not have to have radiation. I was diagnosed last September 19, 2000 with Hodgkin's lymphoma, NS, Stage 2A, and I was 6 months pregnant with my second daughter. My daughter was born healthy, but early, in November and I started the ABVD ten days after her birth. I had a really tough time with the side effects and couldn't go to work. I had to go on disability, but fortunately my support network was wonderful. I got through it and go back for my CT Scans in October.
I am definitely more relaxed now at work and at home and I try to take my time 'to smell the roses.' Life is too short just to stress out and go crazy over schedules, appointments, and work. Now I seem to relish every minute of my life.
I am sorry that I do not have a picture of myself. However, I hope other patients, especially women who might have been diagnosed while pregnant, will feel better about their situation after reading my story.
