Michael MD United States male Living with ALL for 6 years, 11 months Age: 8 It was in the fall of 2003 when Michael started acting like he wasn't feeling well and wanted to lay down and sleep all day. He started bruising all over his little body. We thought it was the baby aspirin that he was on for his heart condition. Michael was born with a rare congenital heart condition called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. He has had two of the three-stage open-heart surgery. We just thought that his symptoms had something to do with heart condition. But it wasn't! Leukemia would have been the last thing I thought. Michael is doing very well now. He is in the consolidation phase, in remission, and has a full head of hair. He will be two tomorrow, and loving life! That's how it should be! |
