Living with Hodgkin Lymphoma for 29 years, 6 months
Age: 46

I was 17 and thought I was invincible, like all 17 year olds, when I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s. Against my parents' wishes, I insisted on going away to college on time, and facing daily radiation treatments. I just couldn't let cancer get in the way of the rest of my life!! And that is how I still, all these years later, look at my life.

Hodgkin’s taught me a great deal about me and about life. I am grateful that I have the time to savor those lessons all these years later. My greatest respect and admiration go out to the doctors and nurses who take care of those of us with cancer and to those who are fighting cancer each day.

I am stunned each year, when I realize how many years it has been since I finished my last treatment. I am proud to call myself a cancer survivor and must acknowledge my family for all they did for me during that time. I value and love each of them far more than I ever could tell them.
